Easterns Lifesaving

Lifesaving as a movement offers a dynamic variety of sportsmanship and social responsibility, coupled with a healthy lifestyle unmatched in any other sport. Traditionally viewed only as a community service and marginalised as a result, lifesaving in South Africa has emerged as a competitive sport producing talent to challenge the giants of water sport.

Easterns Lifesaving is a relatively small province incorporating the area of Eastern Gauteng. We supply lifeguard services to swimming pools and open water (dams and rivers) in the Eastern Gauteng area. Even though all of our members provide lifeguard services as a voluntary service Easterns prides itself in the professionalism of our lifeguards. We are proud to the only lifesaving organization in South Africa to patrol at every inland BSG Energade triathlon in the country. The organizers of the BSG Energade Triathlon series (Spectrum Sports) will only use Easterns to patrol their inland events, and as such we are now patrolling at other events that they organize, including the new Sasol offroad triathlon series.

We supply lifeguards at other open water and pool events as and when required from open water swims of 10km down to development galas where the children learning to swim only need to cover 33 meters in a pool.
